Key Responsibilities:
Exadata Infrastructure Management:
Manage and maintain Exadata Database Machines, including storage cells, compute nodes, and
Infiniband switches.
Conduct patching, upgrades, and configuration changes.
Performance Tuning and Optimization:
Optimize Oracle databases for maximum performance, leveraging Exadata features like Smart
Scan, Smart Flash Cache, and Hybrid Columnar Compression.
Analyze and resolve performance bottlenecks.
Incident and Problem Management:
Provide advanced troubleshooting for complex database and infrastructure issues.
Act as an escalation point for critical issues.
Database Administration:
Support database operations such as backup/recovery, high availability, and disaster recovery
solutions.
Automation of regular tasks using scripts and tools.
Collaboration and Knowledge Sharing:
Work with cross-functional teams (networking, application support, etc.) for integrated support
and solutions.
Document best practices, processes, and provide mentorship to junior staff.
Security and Compliance:
Implement and maintain security best practices in accordance with organizational policies.
Key Skills and Qualifications:
Experience with Exadata Components: Deep understanding of Oracle Exadata architecture and
components.
Oracle Database Expertise: In-depth knowledge of Oracle 12c/19c, RAC (Real Application Clusters),
ASM (Automatic Storage Management), and Data Guard.
Scripting and Automation: Proficiency in scripting languages like Bash, Python, or Ansible for automation.
Networking and Storage Knowledge: Understanding of Infiniband networking, storage cell management,
and tuning.
Performance Tuning Skills: Ability to analyze and optimize SQL queries, troubleshoot memory and CPU
bottlenecks.
Certifications: Oracle certifications such as Oracle Certified Professional (OCP) or Oracle Exadata
Certified Specialist can be highly desirable.
