Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Data Lead to drive enterprise-wide data strategy, governance, and
delivery across a federated operating model. This role will be responsible for shaping strong data
foundations that enable analytics, AI, regulatory compliance, and business value creation across multiple
geographies and business units.
The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker with hands-on data leadership experience, strong stakeholder
management skills, and the ability to influence outcomes without direct authority.
Key Responsibilities
Data Strategy & Lifecycle Management
● Lead and govern the end-to-end data lifecycle, including data quality, architecture, standards,
metadata, master data, lineage, acceptable data use, and data risk management.
● Define and execute enterprise data strategy aligned with business priorities and regulatory
requirements.
● Ensure data assets are fit-for-purpose, reusable, and scalable across the organization.
Analytics & AI Data Foundations
● Establish and manage data foundations supporting analytics and AI use cases, including:
○ Analytical and operational data stores
○ Feature stores and model input data
○ Data labelling and data readiness assessments
○ Model data governance and compliance
● Partner with analytics and AI teams to ensure trusted, high-quality data for model development
and deployment.
Data Governance & Compliance
● Design and implement data governance frameworks, covering:
○ Data quality management
○ Metadata and lineage
○ Privacy, consent, and acceptable usage
● Ensure compliance with internal policies and external regulatory standards.
Solution Delivery & Leadership
● Lead cross-functional delivery teams across Group functions, countries, and local business units
(LBUs).
● Manage and mentor teams of data professionals, including data analysts, data architects, and
data modelers.
● Coordinate with internal technology teams and external vendors to deliver aligned, scalable
solutions.
Stakeholder Management & Influence
● Engage with senior business and technology stakeholders to drive alignment and adoption of
data blueprints in a federated environment.
● Translate complex business needs into practical, well-structured data designs and roadmaps.
● Act as a trusted advisor on data-related decisions.
Commercial & Business Value Creation
● Translate business data needs into measurable business value and competitive advantage.
● Support use cases across domains such as customer, policy, claims, advisor, and health data
(where applicable).
Required Qualifications
Education
● Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
Experience
● 10+ years of experience in data management and data governance roles.
● 4+ years of proven experience managing and leading data delivery teams.
● Strong experience working in federated operating models and complex enterprise environments.
Domain Expertise
● Prior experience in Insurance or Financial Services preferred.
● Familiarity with Party, Policy, Claims, Advisor, or Health data models is a strong advantage.
Cloud & Technology
● Hands-on experience with Azure and/or Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
● Strong understanding of modern data platforms and architectures.
